Joy Clarkson

Founder, GM Operations
Joy Clarkson – a teacher, facilitator, mentor, wife, mother, grandmother, entrepreneur and not necessarily always in that order. She has been involved with the field of education since 1982, when she took up her first teaching job at St Patrick’s Vidya Bhavan Jodhpur. Since then she has taught in schools in Udaipur, Chandigarh and Nainital. She has held positions as General Co-ordinator in Mt Carmel School Chandigarh and as founder Principal of Mt Carmel School Mohali.
Joy has also worked in related fields of education and training. In Chandigarh she worked with a language school where she had ten branches under her supervision and in Delhi for two years as facilitator, trainer and later Centre Head in a reputed training academy, where she was involved with the coaching of TOEFL, TWE and TSE. She also conducted Personality Development sessions in the same organization. She has also worked with T.I.M.E, as faculty English, for CAT coaching and also worked with BBA aspirants in areas of public speaking, confidence building.
She took a break from the informal sector of education to rediscover her inherent joy of teaching children. This took her to Nainital where she worked in All saint’s College for two years teaching English. She was also a House Mistress.
Her deepest desire however has been to bring soft skill training to the classrooms in schools. Over the years, during the intermittent sabbaticals that medical conditions imposed on her, she has been constantly keeping abreast of school kids' needs especially the 12th std students, many of whom needed to be equipped with certain basic skills that would help them to deal with the practical realities of life outside the protective walls of the school.
This is how Zion Commitments was born.
Joy is very interested in drama and she has been deeply involved with putting up plays in the various schools she has worked with. She was also an approved artiste with the drama section in AIR Udaipur as a B-grade artiste and later in AIR Jodhpur as a B-high drama artiste. Her other passion is creative writing. She has been writing on the net for about three years, and many of her stories and articles have been published by Faithwriters.com and 4indianwoman.com. Her latest writing assignment is compiling snippets of her life, in book form, as a gift for her grandchildren.

Her mantra - Passion, Conviction, Action
